Jinetera borracha
Drunk prostitute.
There is no better way to describe Idia Elizabeth Bonet Díaz, who recently went on a drunken tirade and repeatedled threatened Dama de Blanco Isel Acosta Obregón, the wife of political prisoner Blas Giraldo Reyes, according to a story by independent journalist Miriam Leiva, posted at Cuba Libre Digital.
I guess I'd be drunk, too, if I ever decided to do like Bonet and get in bed with the dictatorship. The island is covered with collaborators, with prostitutes like her. Drinking yourself into a stupor may be the only way to survive.
Or to gather the courage to act like such a coward.
A slave of the revolution — more precisely, the daughter of an Interior Ministry official — Bonet last week rushed Acosta and began screaming at her as she walked with an older woman. Fortunately, Acosta and the other woman, who was not identified in the story, were able to take refuge in a neighbor's house.
A few hours later, however, as they resumed their walk, Bonet, who was part of an "act of repudiation" carried out against Acosta in March 2006, again assailed the women.
Acosta complained to State Security about the harassment. But this being Cuba, and Acosta being who she is — the wife of "enemy of the state" Reyes — and Bonet being who she is — a prostitute in service of the dictatorship — the police will do nothing.

Hope she has an escape plan in place. She'll need it, and she's definitely not the only one. The "Castro ate my brain" defense is probably not going to get her too far.
