Remembering a tragedy
13 years ago today a terrible event took place. The sinking of the 13 de Marzo tugboat by the castroite Cuban government. The act resulted in the death of 37 Cubans who were trying to flee the island, including several woman, children and even babies.
Vigilia Mambisa was setting up a demonstration in Little Havana as I drove to work this morning.
