Justice delayed but not denied

A couple of weeks ago while doing our weekly internet radio show, we were pleasantly surprised to receive a call from Janet Weininger. Weininger is the daughter of Tommy Ray, a CIA pilot that was shot down during the Bay of Pigs invasion. Ray survived only to be subsequently executed by the regime. In a macabre twist the regime kept the body on ice for 18 years and refused to turn it over to the family. Weininger sued the regime in US court, hoping to get a verdict and possibly (and less importantly) an award from frozen Cuban assets. Well it turns out that she won.

One of her attorneys, Joey Zumpano, is a friend an classmate of mine from Belen high school. Recently I contacted him about setting up a non-profit for BUCL. While I was talking to him on the phone he told me I should stop by his office so I could see what castro's money looks like. He has a copy of the award check in the amount of $23 million and change.

Anyway, D'Luxe magazine has published a piece about Zumpano, the case, and his firm. You can read it by clicking here.

I don't think Ms. Weininger is on the cover of the mag.
