Cubans Denied - Norteños Welcome

While Cubans are generally relegated to filthy healthcare facilities lacking even the most basic necessities. While Cubans are forced to pay for their medical prescriptions, bed linens, hospital gowns and any number of other items they can scarcely afford during hospital visits. While Cuban political prisoners are sometimes denied healthcare as a form of punishment - Canadians can take their pick of any of the island's state-of-the-art healthcare facilities built expressly for foreigners and government bigwigs.

How's this for egalitarianism.

In all fairness, I have seen socialized medicine work well in Sweden for example. However, a great part of the reason for its success in that nation comes from the fact that Swedes pay much higher taxes - because they can - as a result of not working under a totalitarian system that micromanages everyone's wages, etc, etc . . . In Sweden - it's essentially socialized medicine practiced under a capitalist system.

What happens when they come home with a complication... First place they will go running is to our Emergency Department.

CubaWatch,

I was mocking Canada’s SOCIALIZED medical system that “provides” coverage to ALL Canadian citizens. This is the medical system that most Democrats want to shove down our throats. Never mind that the “HillaryCare” initiative to nationalize the health care industry (Clinton administration) didn’t go anywhere; and that “Democratic Fool Number One,” Al Gore, endorsed it back in 2002.

CubaWatch,

One thing to notice: Just about every country with socialized medicine has a falling birthrate among native-borns--even Sweden. Pay enough taxes, and you can't afford a place with that extra bedroom.
