He moves pretty good for being over 80. I suspect that this may not be real, but CNN is running with the story.

For what it's worth, my prediction is that Fidel's death will be announced within the next 30 days. This follows the pattern of the death of Communist dictators (as others have mentioned), delaying the announcement until the power consolidation/struggle is all worked out and the Cuban people are sufficiently impressed with and intimidated by the new boss's hold on said power.

Which means there is a silver lining to this delay: the longer they wait to announce Castro's death, the more factionalized and bitter the power struggle likely is and the less gov't unity there will be in the future regardless of who wins, something that could be easily exploited should CIA/NSA/etc regain competence and cajones. If the delay continues much longer, look for one or more of the main contenders to die or disappear under mysterious circumstances.

I'll make another bold prediction, which is that in 10 years the Democratic Party will either be gone or it will split into two parties, a sort of Reagan Democrat wing and a hard-left post-modern wing with the Democrat label being taken by one or the other. As it is now, they have a major MAJOR problem appealing to both the American electorate in general elections and the Sheehan-ites.

They brag about being a big tent party but no tent in the world is big enough to hold both Zell Miller and Cindy Sheehan. This is a tightrope act that can't last because sooner or later the wind of change will blow, and blow hard. And hot...
