It was a cold and damp day out here in LA today, and I hate the cold. A friend emailed this, and it was a great pick-me-up.

Ziva, you really have the touch. I have to admit that it brought a tear and a big smile to my face. It has to touch those of us who grew up here. I love the land of my birth, but south Florida also runs deeply through my veins. I've lived throughout the US and travelled around the world, but Miami is the place I feel most comfortable. Unfortunately, I sometimes sense that we may be losing our treasured 'paradise in exile' because of the uncontrolled migration from outside and inside the country. We need to continue institutionalizing our presence here so future Cuban-American generations never forget their history. The gig helped remind me that this is where my roots lie, no matter where I may end up. Thanks for the post!
