How bad are things in communist Cuba? - UPDATED
Things are so bad that even the bananas are taking to the high-seas to escape.

Of course, we all know it is all America's fault with its imperialistic wet-banana peel, dry-banana peel immigration policy that encourages tropical fruits to risk their lives to escape.
UPDATE: Turns out El Mizzoubanazo and I share similar senses of humor, and completely unbeknownst to either of us, we came up with similar wet-banana, dry-banana jokes. The good thing is that both his blog and Babalu are alerting the world to the plight of Cuban produce.

Oye... using the story is one thing, but the wet peel, dry peel joke? HAHA maybe it was just coincidence.

In any case, it doesn't get much better than a picture of Cuban bananas making a dash for dry land.

Mizzou:
What a coincidence! It's good to know there are some people out there with similarly twisted senses of humor!

Between these guys and the ones that win the Banana Bombo, the Netherlands will have more fruity cubanía than it knows what to do with.
