Cuban farmers reject "Venezcuba"

Independent journalist Luis Esteban Espinosa, of the Youth Without Censorship news agency, reports that members of the Cuban Farm Workers Party — an illegal group, of course — have been collecting signatures on a petition that rejects chavez's call for a Venezuela-Cuba confederation.

María del Carmen Videau, vice president of the group, said a Venezuelan annexation of Cuba would be "a betrayal to our country, and to our forefathers."
