Guantanameras, and Guantanameros, too

Never has a dictatorship, like the castros', ever been so afraid of little pieces of rubber.

Of course, the message emblazoned on those rubber wristbands — Cambio, or "change" — might one day soon change a country, and send a tyranny into oblivion.

So really, it's no surprise that a crackdown seen earlier in Havana, has now spread to Guantanamo, where police recently arrested dozens of people for wearing the wristbands, according to a report by independent journalist Manuel Guerra Pére, posted at Payo Libre. During interrogations, officers warned the protesters wearing the bracelet was a "counter-revolutionary" and that they were being played as fools by American provocateurs.

And most ominously, they were warned that if they continued with their protests, they risked being thrown in jail.

If enough people get these bracelets in Cuba and wear them, there won't be enough prisons for them. If enough people wear these bracelets, the Cuban regime will have to stand down from arresting these people because it will become international news.
