Peter, "get over yourself"

This submitted question is another reason why I think the format of Wednesday's presidential debate is a joke:

Not that a professional journalist would neccessarily ask a better, more-informed question. It's just that the question of Cuba, and who is elected the next leader of the free world, deserves more seriousness than what Peter gives it. (A similar question was submitted, for the Democrats' YouTube debate earlier this year.)

Peter is only 18, so maybe he should be excused for his idiocy. His YouTube portfolio suggests he has some filmmaking talent. However, his question about Cuba reveals he knows little about what is happening in Cuba today.

Of course, the same could be said of a lot of the presidential candidates.

If Peter's question is selected, hopefully the candidates' answers will sound something like this, or like this.

I followed the link and learned this:

Q. Isn’t U.S. policy toward Cuba held hostage to right-wing exile Cubans in Miami?

A. That question is insulting to Cuban exiles, who have come to America under difficult circumstances and managed to succeed, in the aggregate, based on hard work, education and other values that have brought about success to any immigrant group that has sought the American dream.

Funny, no mention of wet foot dry foot, a policy that gives Cuban exiles a "foot up" in "succeeding." Why is the exile community so afraid to acknowledge advantages is has had along with disadvantages?! This is the perfect example...obviously a well thought out, well-crafted answer that chooses to omit a HUGE part of the equation.
