Who needs a fence?

We do.

You know it, I know it, but someone has to get "lazy" George Bush to know it.

How is a fence going to keep these terrorists out? If I remember correctly the terrorists that hit the Twin Towers didn't cross the Mexican border. The terrorists who planned to attack on New Years Eve in 2000 were coming from the Canadian border.

I'm not saying we don't need to secure the border, but insisting a fence will make us safer is wrong.

Think of the "fence" as a metaphor for the security we need. The 'physical' fence is but one of the items we need on our list.

Good question Angel-good answer George-but if I were OBL I would be sending my "soldiers" into the USA by way of Mexico. On foot and undocumented.

A fence -- or a WALL really -- won't solve all the problems with keeping terrorists or anyone else out. But for God's sake, what will?

There's an old saying -- the perfect is the enemy of the good, which in this case means that refusing to build a wall because it's not 100% foolproof prevents us from doing anything at all. A wall won't make us safe, just saf-ER.

Just do it.
