El perro que ladra…

CARACAS (Reuters) - Venezuela's leftist President Hugo Chavez said on Friday he will cut oil sales to the United States if the American government interferes in Sunday's referendum aimed at allowing him to run for reelection indefinitely.

Chavez told supports at a rally that the state oil company will halt sales to the United States on Monday if Washington interferes with the vote on the proposed constitutional reform.

The Venezuelan leader and Cuba ally also said he had ordered the military to protect oil fields and refineries in case of political violence.

The reform would also give him direct control over foreign currency reserves while reducing the workday to six hours and expanding social security benefits for informal workers like street vendors.

With 60% of Venezuela’s oil production going to the US, the interminable mouth-flapper could ill afford to take such a financial hit. But threats such as these sure do make provocative headlines.

Go ahead, monkey-boy; I double-dog dare you to cut your oil sales by 60%.

He may not be the smartest tyrant but he's certainly the ugliest! I work 30 miles from home but would bike to and from work if Hugo shuts off the oil. I don't buy his greasy crap anyway

he's a putz. the US is the only country that has the refineries that can process his dirty crude.

he won't be able to see it to anyone except maybe china but it would cost him a fortune and we can simply buy the oil from somewhere else.

supply and demand.

F*ck the ignorant burro.

We should send Jimmy Carter down there to find out "why he hates us" so much.

I saw on CNBC yesterday where Venezuela produces 2.4 million barrels of oil a day down from 6 million a day from before Chavez took the oil business over.

Sounds like Cuba and the sugar production, down below 2 million tons this year from over 7 million tons a year in pre-fidel days.

You savvy economic managers you hugo and fidel!!

...NOT

Aaaah, capitalism! It will roll over and flatten him. Cut exports to the US and you will drink your crude, IMBECIL.

"I saw on CNBC yesterday where Venezuela produces 2.4 million barrels of oil a day down from 6 million a day from before Chavez took the oil business over."

Cut it by 3.6 million barrels from 6.0? That's exactly 60%. His threat sounds more like an attempt to predict the past.

As much as I would like to blame the lower production on the idiot's lack of business acumen, it is hard to tell how much that lower production is due to bad management, and how much OPEC has to do with it. OPEC can be pretty strict with production due to its effect on the price per barrel of oil (more oil, lower price--less oil, higher price).

Nevertheless, whether it's OPEC or not, monkey-boy has given Venezuela, and the rest of the world, a good look at his business skills, or lack thereof.

"he will cut oil sales to the United States if..."

So why doesn't he cut them RIGHT NOW and no "if" so he can show the world what a big boy he is?
