Four dissidents arrested
Four Cuban dissidents — including former political prisoner Jorge Luis García Pérez (Antúnez) — were detained Sunday afternoon, according to several news reports. Presumably, the police arrested them so they cannot participate in today's activities to commemorate International Human Rights Day.
It was the second time in a week that the police have moved on Antúnez, who was released earlier this year after serving more than 17 years in prison.
The others arrested, according to dissident leader Martha Beatriz Roque, were Carlos Calvo, Blas Fortún and Guillermo Pérez. Along with Antúnez, they are all from Santa Clara.
