The would be candidate opens his mouth...
And a whole bunch of excrement comes out:
Huckabee's niche is "ultra-conservatives," says Joe García, a Cuban-American Democrat and chairman of the Miami-Dade County Democratic Party. "He's trying to find a niche among older Cubans within the ultra-right wing, who are angry, who don't have relatives on the island, and who tend to dislike all the new Cubans who've been arriving."
First of all Huckabee is not a conservative. His record is not conservative and his rhetoric is populist so Joe is wrong on that. But that's not surprising, Joe is rarely right. He's the Alan Colmes of south Florida politics.
Of course Joe is reacting to Huckabee's new position that there should be a suspension of immigration from terrorist states. Huckabee did not specifically refer to Cuba and judging by his other foreign policy gaffes he probably didn't realize that Cuba is on the State Department's list of terrorist states. We brought that up here and speculated that Huckabee made a mistake in overlooking Cuba as a country that would be affected by such a policy.
If anyone is trying to divide Cuban-Americans it's Joe Garcia. His strategy has been to divide newcomers from the historical exile community by advocating lifting of the restrictions on family travel. Here's some news for Joe. Political exile is not summer camp where there's a bus waiting for you when you get homesick. Presumably people are leaving Cuba because the political situation there is intolerable. That's why my parents left and have never been back. But the behavior of some recent arrivals is puzzling since they return home early and often. To me this blurs the line between an exile and a migrant. And Joe doesn't mind blurring that line. To him its all the same. In fact Cuban migrants are better for Joe than Cuban exiles.
Here's a question to Joe Garcia: If the family travel restrictions reverted back to those under Clinton, once per year instead of the current once every three years, are you going to guarantee that Cuba will be free three times as fast?
While you folks think about that, I can guarantee you that every penny spent in Cuba will eventually pass through the hands of castro, inc.

If this is Joe Garcia's best political analysis, then he shouldn't quit his day job at Mabel's House of Curls.

Run, Joe, run. Show these Babalooers that you can be our next Representative in Congress! You have the support of all the pro-Castro voters in South Florida. I can be your campaign manager as I have a lot of political experience dealing with Fidel Castro for thirty years.

hay dios mio. I can't stand Joe Garcia. Everytime I see his face on tv or his voice on radio I quickly change the channel/station.
