I'm waiting to hear what our presidential candidates have to day about Castro stepping down. The first one that says Good Riddance and Rot in Hell has my vote but I'm not exactly holding my breath waiting for that statement.

Shtetl,
Ask and ye shall receive:
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/
Excerpt Obama:
"The prompt release of all prisoners of conscience wrongly jailed for standing up for the basic freedoms too long denied to the Cuban people would mark an important break with the past. It's time for these heroes to be released."
Excerpt McCain:
"Yet freedom for the Cuban people is not yet at hand, and the Castro brothers clearly intend to maintain their grip on power. That is why we must press the Cuban regime to release all political prisoners unconditionally, to legalize all political parties, labor unions and free media, and to schedule internationally monitored elections."

Hillary must be too busy crying for Fidel to issue a statement.

I can't wait for the day, the free Cubans can get there just revenge on all the stool pigeons and scumbags who have kept the stalinist corrupt gov't of Cuba standing. Hugo if your listening your ass is next. Oh in regards to Hugo, it won't be the U.S that assinates you. It will be the lonely little peasant who finally opens his eyes. Much will have to change in Cuba, there are many post Castro brainwashed retarts still believing in the system...

Would you believe this, from Spain:
http://www.thaindian.com/newsportal/world-news/spain-calls-castros-resignation-as-great-news_10019117.html
Spain calls Castro’s resignation as ‘great news’
Madrid, Feb 19 (DPA) Spain’s governing Socialist Party Tuesday described the resignation of Cuban leader Fidel Castro as “great news” if it led to a “democratic opening.” Castro, 81, who has led Cuba since 1959, Tuesday renounced his presidency and military leadership after more than a year of illness and absence from the job.
“From Spain, we will work for that to happen,” said Jose Blanco, organizational secretary of Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero’s Socialist Party.

Yeah, and the day they are both out of the scene, I'm sure all these countries with a track record of propping up the dictatorship will be crawling out of the woodwork to "congratulate" the Cuban people and send them good wishes, as if to say "we were with you all along."
