What a great loss to the music world and to his fans. :(

Oh my God…. may he rest in peace in all the glory.

Another of the great ones dies in exile and Cuba still not free.

How sad, well, there must be a reason for this entire ordeal.

This breaks my heart. Tremendous loss in so many ways. Que descanse en paz.

I too am heartbroken, I listen to his music everyday, it is my soul music. I had the honor of meeting him at last years Cuba Nostalgia and spoke with him for a short while. He was a great man, and his music! His wonderful music that influenced so many others. I'm at a loss for words, so ditto what Tati said, so tremendous a loss in so many ways. Que descanse en paz.

I met him once at Versailles. Not only was the man a genius, he was unfailingly polite and patient with fans. Rest in peace, Maestro.

He was a true musical legend, the genuine article. I had the privilege of hearing him perform live twice. I'll never forget the evening at The Biltmore, dancing to the first mambo ever written performed live by the composer. Magic, pure magic. I'll cherish those memories forever. Cachao forever!
