Obama Hiding His Liberal Color

Obama has no trouble making the issue about race a non-issue, but he cowers at the suggestion that he is a pure unadulterated left wing liberal along the lines of Ted Kennedy and George McGovern. Be Honest with America Barack.
As once again stated in an op ed today in the Wall Street Journal:
National Journal rated him as the most liberal person in the Senate in 2007, and for good reason. On economic policy, Mr. Obama favors higher income, Social Security and corporate taxes. He supports massive increases in domestic spending and greater government regulation of the economy. He favors a significantly larger role for the federal government in health care. He opposes the North American Free Trade Agreement.Mr. Obama has criticized the Supreme Court's decision to uphold a partial birth abortion ban, and he wants to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act. He voted against John Roberts and Samuel Alito for the Supreme Court. In Illinois, Mr. Obama supported banning the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns. And he supports granting driver's licenses to illegal immigrants.
On national security matters, Mr. Obama voted to deny legal immunity to telecom companies that have cooperated with the government in warrantless wiretapping of suspected terrorists. He wants to grant habeas corpus rights to detainees held at Guantanamo Bay. He supports a full-scale withdrawal from Iraq. And he says, in his first year in office, he would meet with the leaders of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea without preconditions.
It's no wonder that Mr. Obama has been endorsed by Moveon.org – one of the most radical groups within the liberal universe.
And yet he is touted as a new Democrat? In a pig's eye perhaps. Nothing but another cult-of-personality friends. He's a repackaged unabashed McGovern liberal. So come out of the closet Barack. Admit what you are and if the public want a repackaged 1970's era McGovern liberal then they will vote for you. But don't tout yourself as a "new" democrat.
*** UPDATE *** Check out this op ed in today's Washington Post on Obama's extremist abortion position. Read it here.

I knew Obama physically reminded me of someone, but I couldn't quite place it till I saw this picture. Look at it closely. This is a blacker, hipper, slicker version of Jimmy Carter. It fits.

Way back as a kid, I do remember McGovern and his unahappie-hippie entourages. I think Obamination is far worse than McGovern. Obie has undergone the post-McGovern era of hard-core leftist brainwashing to turn him into the finished product he is today.
What irritates me above all, but does not surprise me, is his blatant hypocrisy; just like his Rev., Obie & Michelle and poster children black yuppies living in an affluent 'hood of Chicago, enjoying 6-digit incomes, sending their kids to schools that the average black family cannot afford, all the while looking down their chocolate noses at poor blacks advising them to avoid corporate jobs -- the same jobs that allow THEM to live it high. AArrgggghhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're right Gigi. McGovern was as left as they come but at least, he was a decorated WWII fighter pilot who at least served his country. Obama is simply a privileged elite who benefited from the same system he rips and which made him wealthy and powerful.

Cigar Mike,
In my view Obama is so full of shit that is not even funny.
What worries even more is the fact of the so many people in America is buying into his bullshit unconditionally and without proper reasoning.
When you digest the substance behind Obama’s proposals you’ll realize how horrible of a President he’ll be and how much trouble he will bring to this country and the rest of the Free World.

Again, this is the savvy, non-dopey, uptown version of Jimmy Carter. Just don't expect significantly better results from him as president.

When Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer was pressed to affirm that she opposed the medical killing of children after birth, she refused to commit, saying that children deserve legal protection only "when you bring your baby home." It was unclear whether this included the car trip.
Quote of the day.
