I've often commented on the fallacy that Cuba survived "peak oil", a notion that has been espoused by apologists of castro inc. The Herald's Cuba blog notes that the regime is celebrating, via its propaganda rag, a savings of $2 million dollars by selling raw instead of pasteurized milk in Las Tunas. You see the savings come largely from fuel costs not incurred by not having to transport the milk to be pasteurized. Of course, as the Herald reporter notes, raw milk is a health risk. No mention of that in Granma.
