I may finally have a reason to vote for John McCain

From Liz Smith's column in the New York Post:

SUSAN SARANDON, who appeared in three films last year and won kudos for her TV movie "Bernard and Doris," is still not a contented soul. She says if John McCain gets elected, she will move to Italy or Canada. She adds, "It's a critical time, but I have faith in the American people."

Let's hope she packs Tim's bags too.

George,

If all the anti-American Hollywood idiots follow her it would be even better.

Didn’t Alec Baldwin made a similar remark years ago…whatever happened with that one?

These anti-American Hollywood idiots are so full of shit that is not even funny.

This weaselette is an unabashed supporter of Philly cop killer Mumia Abu Jamal. I can bet you that funds for a one way ticket could be collected in minutes up here. But she should go to a true socialist's paradise, like Cuba.

sadly, as you would expect, these hollywood wankers are so full of it, even when McCain wins, they won't go anywhere. We were waiting for 8 years for them to leave during the Bush 43 administration and they're still here wearing their che shirts and manolo pumps and prada handbags.

All I can say to Susan and her ilk ...

Va Fanculo!

I find this "I will move to Canada" actions hilarious. I've met people who did this after Bush's second term win. Hello? People its four fucking years at best 8 at worst and you are going to leave? What kind of American are you? If you hate the elected government, stay and fight, don't run away.

These people have no clue what truly having to leave your country for political reasons, when your life is truly in danger is.

Many Americans have no clue as to how good we have it here, and how many more liberties than any other democracy we have.

BTW George, glad to have you back. I was missing you!!!!

Claudia,

Just drove through West Philly this week. There are still "Free Mumia" signs there (and Obama signs too). And my car now needs an allignment from the potholes.

And after her last few "blockbusters" if I were Susan Sarandon I'd move to another country too.

I think it's all funny, this idea of ditching your country because you disagree with who is in government. I mean it's one thing to have to flee from oppression, but quite another to state you're leaving because you disagree with democracy... I guess they (Baldwin and Sarandon) are only showing their true colors, not that they'd ever ACTUALLY leave the USA... after they discovered that both Italy and Canada have governments quite friendly to the current Republican administration. Maybe what she meant was "she'll move to Toronto". Someone should point out to her that Toronto is as Canadian as Hollywood is American... oh wait, never mind.

* and when it snows more than a few inches in Toronto, they all cry like shit sacks until the army comes to bail their sorry asses out. well the election is what?... november 2 ? bring your own snow shovel dear.

George, I'm holding my nose when voting for McCain. For many of the reasons you've articulated, it's a bitter pill. I'm listing reasons why I'm not voting for Obama (as if I needed to justify it) on mine and my friends' blog, PubPundits.com and should have a comprehensive list by the end of next week.

Oh, and don't believe Susan. These folks threaten to leave until their accountants explain to them the tax structures in these countries they think they want to move to. Then they stay, decrying capitalism all the while that they're riding in their limousines enjoying the freedoms and economic priviledges that this country affords them.
