First Father's Day

Nobody ever gives Dads their due. Just this morning I heard on the radio that while Americans spent $18 billion on mother's day presents this year, Dad's are expected to receive $11 billion in gifts.

Oh well. At least I have my munchkins.

Happy Father's Day Henry. Your son looks like a Xerox copy of you. Gorgeous kids. Hope that you and all the fathers at Babalu and their readers have a wonderful Father's Day.

Let's see......

Having 5 of my own.....

Sleepless nights, empty wallet, cleaning diapers, limited social life, terrible 2s, occasional heart attack from injuries and other incidents, getting lost at the mall, did I mention always broke?

But in the end, the way I remember it is

baby's breathe (mmmmm), contagious smiles, super contagious baby laughs, first words, first walk, that look they give you that steals your heart forever, proud moments at school, not giving a crap about being broke because it's for them and constantly being reminded that God is real every time you look at them and see these little versions of you growing up right before your crying eyes... oh yeah... HAPPY FATHER'S DAY Henry.

Abe,

You said it man. Especially the Babies' Breath. There's something about it when you go in for the kiss on the cheek and you feel the little breath on your cheek. It's amazing.

Are you starting a Cuban Kids Watch blog? The boy looks like he is going to be as big as his father. Are they eating pan con lechon yet? Are they taking Flintstones vitamins? Congratulations to you and Ana. See you soon.

Being a dad is great. And as they get bigger, you really get to appreciate silence which is usually after they go to bed.

congrats

Those two are worth sooo much more than $11 billion. Happy First Father's Day, Henry.

Your son looks like you when you were a baby, with his mommy's sunny disposition. The girl is just like you in the character and that mischevious smile and when she hears your voice, she is all smiles. There we go again, daddy's girl, for sure.
