Video Challenge
Ok, last week you had to figure out what was wrong with the Obama campaign video. This week it's a newsclip of John McCain in Colombia to meet with President Uribe to discuss free trade and human rights abuses. There's nothing wrong with the video, but I want to see if you can pick out a particular high-profile person and if you can, do you think it means anything?
P.S. It's not Cindy.

I saw a photo of his visit with Joe in the background. I immediately thought VP

I think Joe Lieberman is the last of his kind: a moral, thinking liberal, not afraid to do what's right despite the heat. But he is not the right choice for VP. He needs a conservative with real bona fides. Maybe Lieberman can be a key member of his cabinet, but not VP.

I completely agree with George's comments about
Lieberman's character and the need for a Reaganesque
Conservative for the number two slot.
That said, sure would like to see Joe in the Cabinet.

Yes, It's Joe Lieberman and I was wondering if he is going to try to pull more from the middle and offer a choice to the democrats to get on board as an option to Obama (and I guess the conservatives don't get a bone) buthe also had Graham with him and I don't know if that means anything either. I like Lieberman a lot, but I don't know that that ticket will win.

Liberman may get a cabinet post (e.g. defense), but he will not be the VP pick.

Not really "in defense" of Joe, just a bit of somewhat related trivia, is that one of Nixon's closest advisers was a Dem, John Connally, and Nixon tried all sorts of ways to get Connally the VP slot before the 2nd term and dump Agnew. Connally was the Treasury secretary and later "Democrats for Nixon", but "party politics"always interfered. Nixon wanted to breakaway and form a party with Connally, with the conservative dems.

Keep Joe in the Senate. McCain will need all the help he can get to get judges approved.

Look, McCain's every instinct is to "reach across the aisle". McCain simply doesn't like conservatives and he seems determined to run his "straight talk express" campaign as he sees it. McCain will run an "honorable" campaign as he sees it, which includes doing what he thinks is right, damn the consequences.
As a practical political matter, McCain is a creature of the beltway and buys into its analysis of the country, that its turned left. I didn't think he'd pick Lieberman, since he does need conservative votes. But with this picture and this trip, I think he will pick Lieberman, then we can expect to see "McPain Loserman" bumperstickers after the election.
