Michael Wolff is an idiot

Vanity Fair contributing editor says conservatism is dead and Clear Channel Communications is going to regret signing Rush Limbaugh to an 8-year/$400 million deal:

“I think it’s a monster error,” Wolff said. “I know – I’m sitting here saying, ‘What are these people smoking?’ You know, the truth is that Rush Limbaugh has been – he’s ridden the rise of conservatism for 25 years and I don’t, maybe nobody quite, quite has been following the news, but that’s coming to an end.”

Wolff based his assessment on the assumption Americans are shifting to the left politically, based on the success of presumptive Democratic nominee Sen. Barack Obama, of Illinois. Wolff’s comments repeated Obama’s theme word “change” at least six times.

I got news for Mr. Wolff: if Barack Obama gets elected Clear Channel will have gotten a bargain. The best thing that ever happened to Rush Limbaugh was Bill Clinton. A couple of years of Obamunism and people will be jumping on the conservative bandwagon in unprecedented numbers.

Liberals always underestimate how conservative America really is. Obama may win in November, but that only means that more lefties went to the polls and voted than conservatives. They're inspired...

This is and old, old, old, old, OOOOOOOOOLD prediction about Rush. He started in 1988 and grew by leaps and bounds.

The Clinton was elected in '92 and the same folks said, well Bush lost so the conservative thing is over and that's all his show was about anyway, so I guess that's the end of Rush.

Then when Clinton was about to finish his second term, the same folks said, well, Rush won't have Clinton to kick around anymore, that's all his show was about anyway so he's done.

Now they say that conservatism is on the wain so that's the end of Rush again.

I really think that the left is so fad-oriented, both culturally and intellectually, that they think everything anyone ELSE likes has to be a fad. They can't imagine anyone being committed to anything or anyone for more than the proverbial 15 minutes.

This is a free market people, if Rush is getting signed up is because people are buying him.
