Obama's anti-Cuban advisers and the lost cause
The Herald's political blog has posted an item about eight Cuban exile groups that have sent an open letter to Senator Bill Nelson of Florida and two high-profile Cuban-American Democrats, Bob Menendez, a Senator from New Jersey, and Miami's Mayor Manny Diaz, to put pressure on Obama to fire Greg Craig and Eric Holder, both of which were major actors in the sad Elian Gonzalez episode that ended with the boy being sent back to Cuba as fidel's human prize.

The signers of the letter include leaders of the Bay of Pigs Brigade 2506, MAR por Cuba, The Cuban Liberty Council, and Unidad Cubana.
According to the letter:
Eric Holder defended and played a role in Elian's seizure by the Justice Department, and the unnecessary use of brute force by armed government agents, to send the child back to the country his mother had tried so hard for them to escape from.Greg Craig is equally, if not more, culpable. Although he might have been officially hired by a church group to represent Elian's father, Greg Craig was actually benefitting Fidel Castro and his regime.
Given the relationship of Greg Craig with the Castro regime and his advisory role with Senator Obama, it is not surprising that Senator Obama would propose meeting without preconditions with Raul Castro, another affront to the Cuban-American community.
Greg Craig, who had previously been Bill Clinton's attorney, was present at the infamous 60 minutes interview of Juan Miguel Gonzalez (Elian's father) conducted by Dan Rather. In the video below the translator hired for that interview explains how Greg Craig shaped it and coached Dan Rather.
Still, Obama has the gall to say his policies for Cuba will be based on "Libertad!" Fortunately Cuban-Americans aren't buying Obama's fairy tales as a recent poll by a Democratic pollster shows Obama is currently getting support from only a Jimmy Carteresque 21% of the Cuban-Americans. To put that into perspective, it's estimated that Bill Clinton got 35% of the Cuban-American vote prior to the Elian tragedy.
I fully expect Obama to forget about the Cuban-American vote soon because all objective evidence shows that it's a lost cause for him. Especially when Democratic pundits insist on using the castro regime's own rhetoric to tell us how corrupt we are because we're Republicans that consistently vote our conscience on the issue of Cuba.

Even if Obama at least officially got rid of Holder and Craig, it would be no different from his "distancing" himself from Jeremiah Wright. In other words, it basically would mean nothing and change nothing; it would simply be political expediency.

Say what you will about the Obama connection with Holder and Craig, it pales besides any Cuban-American Democrat politician who would support a Clinton candidacy (which obviously entailed a co-presidency of both Hillary and Bill). There WAS such support, and if Hillary had gotten the nod, there would have been a lot more. I know politics is a very dirty business, but talk about disgusting.

Although Obama has suggested that everyone learn to speak Spanish, he, himself, does not, so he may be confusing "libertad" with "liberalismo".
