Running against castro in the U.K.
It's been said that the way to win the Cuban-American vote in south Florida is to run against fidel castro rather than your opponent. That's obviously false, otherwise Barack Obama with his newfound love of Cuban "libertad" would be polling better than the carteresque 21% that he is currently getting among Cuban-Americans.
But apparently castro played at least some role in London's mayoral election earlier this year. Recent campaign finance reports show that Boris Johnson, that city's new mayor, rented a fidel castro costume for over a month, no doubt mocking the former mayor Ken Livingtsone's affection for the bearded murderer.
