Hmmm

Maybe Im jaded, but does the following report read a little...ummm...funny?

EC medical student found dead in Cuba 2008/07/24

By NTANDO MAKHUBU

Health Reporter

A 22-YEAR-OLD medical student from Cala in the Transkei has died while studying for a medical degree in Cuba.

The student, one of 25 who left South Africa last September to become doctors, was found dead in a river near the Sagua, eastern Cuba residence where he lived. His body was partly decomposed.

Refusing to release his name, provincial health spokesperson Siyanda Manana said the first year student had been separated from the rest of the group on Friday last week while out of school on a trip to the town.

“When he failed to return on Saturday morning the police were notified. A search took place and he was found lying in a stream on Sunday morning,” Manana said.

According to Manana, an investigation to establish the cause of death was being conducted. He said there were no visible marks on the body to suggest the student had been strangled.

The police, a department official said, suspected he had fallen into the river and drowned and they were looking at the possibility that he had been drunk at the time.

The department had been informed of the death early on Monday morning, after which a team was dispatched to inform the student’s family in Cala.

Now, Im no forensic expert, but does a human body show signs of decomposure after less than 2 days? And why do they even mention strangulation?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
40 prisoners have died in Cuban Prisons since the begining of the year. Most have been UNDER the age of 40 but yet cause of dead has been reported as.... "Heart Failure" , suicides by "Hanging" or falling (Jumping..pushed) from high places (?)
Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

I hate such suspicious people!

The african guy had a string around his neck because he was knitting a macrame while swimming in the river. Also the stone at the other end was intended for the cord stability.

Isn't this the second Medical student that dies ?
The first one was a girl ,that was shipped back without any organs or eyes.

I got that news alert during the Radio Hour yesterday. I too was perplexed by the "Strangulation" reference.

I find hard to believe that we never heard about that before? However, know that in warm moist areas the body will decompose quickly since bacteria thrive in those conditions. And I know for a fact that Sagua is extremely humid. Having saying that we all know that nothing the Cuban Goverment say is believable.
