Cuban reality understatement of the day
You can always depend on the MSM to understate the reality of Cuba's misery under the tyrannical rule of Castro, Inc. According to this Reuters article reporting on the regime's response to the three athletes that recently defected in Edmonton, Canada, one man's escape from a murderous slave master is another man's quest for a bigger pay check.
Defections have not been uncommon from sports teams in Cuba, where athletes remain amateurs. Many defectors leave for the chance to turn professional and make more money.
It never ceases to amaze me how the MSM can boil down the struggle of millions of Cubans against 50 years of oppression into simply a quest to make money.

Alberto,
That's the official directive from Cuba and the capitulating, docile and acquiescing American mainstream media follow it to the "T." Remember, you and I and every Cuban on this blog and in the City of Miami and in the state of Florida and in the rest of the country want to go back to Cuba for the sole reason of getting our property back and resuming the alleged exploitation that we used to perpetuate against Cubans back in the 1950's.
Don't forget, ALSO, that according to the media the reason that balseros risk their lives in the straits of Florida is because of Radio Marti egging them on. So that when they die in the middle of the ocean, its our fault not Castro, Inc.'s.
Like I always say, castro, inc.. doesn't need to sell Granma in the USA, because the American media is pushing all of his official lines.

The MSM also fails to note Castro's recent Obama-like flip-flop regarding defectors.
According to an article in today's El Nuevo Herald, Castro wrote on July 16 that he wouldn't dare to even publish the names of those who "betrayed their country by selling themselves to the enemy."
However, one of his most recent reflections explicitly states the names of Noel Arguelles and Jose Antonio Iglesias.
Is Castro losing his memory or merely demonstrating his support for flip-flopper Obama?

Oh by the way guys, I just got back from Cancun on Monday. I was staying at Dreams, anyway a boat with about 30 or so Cubans caught fire offshore and tried getting close to the beach...Well out of the thirty or so 7 were caught and arrested. The rest fled through the hotel..and caught cabs I'm guessing. Anyway I just wanted to let you guys no, as soon as I upload the pics from my cell, I'll post them. I believe 2 children were on board as well.
