Choices, choices, choices...

With all the talk about McCain and Obama, we forget that there are other choices on the presidential ballot come November. You have Ralph Nader running as an Independent, Bob Barr representing the Libertarian Party, Cynthia McKinney as the Green Party candidate, and then you have Gloria La Riva.

Meet Gloria La Riva, US Presidential Canditate for the Party for Socialism and Liberation. A political party, I should add, that proudly displays the image of Che Guevara on the header of its website.

The platform of this party is a simple one: George W. Bush is a terrorist, and Cuba's dictatorial regime is a model America should be emulating. If elected, Ms. La Riva promises to stop the biological weapons attacks America's imperialistic policies have been launching against Cuba, which she says has killed thousands of innocent Cubans.

And with all the hullabaloo over Obama's oratory prowess, Ms. La Riva--as you can see from this video of a mercifully short speech she gave last year--is quite an orator herself.

With all these alternative choices, it's going to be tough to make a decision this November.

She should also have her own Bang Bros video made up of her!

No seriously, she should live in Cuba, not as a commissar but as a regular Cuban for a year and lets see how she likes it.

I think she'a a Chicana (horale homes) but like the other one from the WWP Teresa Gutierrez she becomes the "Latina" of her choosing when the cause permits. One day she is a Chicana, the next she's a Puerto Rican when Vieques comes up, and the next shes a renegad Cuban American when those pingeros the Cuban 5 come up.

I urge everyone who considers himself/herself a liberal to vote for this woman.

I agree, Henry. That's one less vote for the Democrats.

I am gagging reading her bio. Not just because of her party and politics, but because
"She actively backs the campaign to free Mumia Abu-Jamal."

Mummia (aka Wesley Cook) is a Marxist Philly cop-killer who somehow has garnered the attention of such Hollywood luminaries as Danny Glover, Ed Asner and Susan Sarandon, who have been trying to get him a new trial and/or freed. He was sentenced to death 27 years ago yet remains alive and well.

If Mizz La Riva backs him, she's got the Hollywood vote locked up.

Last week I heard a short clip of one of her rants before supporters as the nominee of her party. Began the speech in English, ended in Spanish: The chick needs lithium; she's so shrill --- at one point started to scream, "Soy Boricua, soy Boricua!" -- as if that's a calling card. Guess she thinks that playing the ethnic -- er, diversity card will win her votes.

Who cares? For me, it's leftwing entertainment; it can't get any better. Pasame las rositas de maiz, por favor.

I hope that all the Nutroots vote for her instead of for Obama.

The party for Socialism AND Liberation? Mmmm..that's kind of like having the Party for Racism and Equality.

Love the outfit. So original, too. This dingbat probably doesn't have an original, personal idea of her own in her head. All she knows is the stuff she's read in her manuals and such, and all she knows how to do is recite the same old, tired, utterly predictable propaganda slogans. What a waste of a life.
