It can't happen here?
It happened in Cuba, it is happening in Venezuela, and it is happening in Ecuador, but they tell us it can't happen here.
DENVER -- Sen. Barack Obama's campaign organized its supporters Wednesday night to confront Tribune-owned WGN-AM in Chicago for having a critic of the Illinois Democrat on its air. (Listen to the interview.)"WGN radio is giving right-wing hatchet man Stanley Kurtz a forum to air his baseless, fear-mongering terrorist smears," Obama's campaign wrote in an e-mail to supporters. "He's currently scheduled to spend a solid two-hour block from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. pushing lies, distortions, and manipulations about Barack and University of Illinois professor William Ayers."
Sounds eerily familiar, but we have nothing to worry about... it can't happen here.
Unless, of course, The One says "Yes We Can!"

I watched this whole thing and I can't believe Americans are enthralled by this man. What he is describing is pure government control of our needs, our thoughts and our behavior. All I could think of is how is this different from any past tyrant's promises? How can anyone desire this for this country?
He tells of individuals who are hurting as if it is because of Bush, then takes umbrage when liberals are called whiners. He derides McCain big time, then asserts McCain will use smear tactics. He brings up that he is not your usual looking candidate, then says McCain will use race, which McCain has never done and will never do and Obama knows that, and who is it who is bringing up race, anyway?
But the effrontery is magnificent. All the speakers talk like conservatives with speeches full of family and religion and love of country and our military (except if they are in a war to keep us safe), yet in most past conventions they derided our side for talking about these very things. And they talk about how everyone in this country can make it if he works hard because that's the American dream. But they don't add that if you do, they will tax it away to give to those who have not been able to make it. How can the American people be buying into these misrepresentations of these liberals, these well heeled, well dressed liberals?
And did anyone see that quintessential Clinton moment when Hillary was caught on camera looking bored and alone during one of the speeches. She saw herself and immediately turned to someone behind her as if she was just excited by something someone told her and turned front again with a beaming smile. It was pure theater. She is so afraid to look simply human and has to always convey that she is constantly the center of the world's attention. I have it on tape. It is a priceless moment.
America beware.
Honey
