Quotable quotes

“We may be seeing the first woman president. As a Democrat, I am reeling,” said Camille Paglia, the cultural critic. “That was the best political speech I have ever seen delivered by an American woman politician. Palin is as tough as nails.”

- Camile Paglia, as quoted in The Times

If uber feminist Paglia backs Palin, there might be hope, as other feminists could follow.

My very pro choice, pro woman cousin just told me it is more important to her to see a woman in the white house than to vote pro choice.

I hope she is not alone.

Gov Palin hunts in a place where nails cannot get any harder, the Alaskan wilderness.

Anyone who grew up in such a wilderness can certainly take the heat.

Having Sarah Palin on the ticket has made me excited about this election. And Claudia ... I had several of my lib friends telling me that I should support Hillary just because she is a woman and how I should put idiology aside to assure a woman in the White House. I still haven't heard from them about throwing their support for Gov. Palin. Should be interesting to see if idiology trumps sex now that the shoe is on the other foot.

I see Sarah Palin as a female Teddy Roosevelt and myself becoming more like a conservative Chris Matthews. I gots a tingling in my leg!!

Ruth- Just for you:

WE ARE WOMEN, HEAR US ROAR!
In numbers too big to ignore
And I know too much to go back an' pretend
'Cause I've heard it all before
And I've been down there on the floor
No one's ever gonna keep me down again

I actually had that LP when I was a kid. Not sure why, I wasn't much of a fan.
