Palin redefines McCain
We already knew that he was a war hero; we already knew that he is a maverick who challenges and angers those of his own party; we are all familiar with the faults and shortcomings of John McCain. We should be—the elite press has been pointing them out to us for years. What we lost track of is the enormity of his strengths.
It is my opinion that Sarah Palin’s biggest success tonight was not in answering her critics, which she did admirably, but in countering those of John McCain. The John McCain that the elite media has been denigrating, thanks to one spunky lady from Alaska, we now celebrate.
"There is only one man in this election who has ever really fought for you ... in places where winning means survival and defeat means death ... and that man is John McCain. In our day, politicians have readily shared much lesser tales of adversity than the nightmare world in which this man, and others equally brave, served and suffered for their country. It's a long way from the fear and pain and squalor of a six-by-four cell in Hanoi to the Oval Office.
But if Senator McCain is elected president, that is the journey he will have made.
It's the journey of an upright and honorable man - the kind of fellow whose name you will find on war memorials in small towns across this country, only he was among those who came home.
To the most powerful office on earth, he would bring the compassion that comes from having once been powerless ... the wisdom that comes even to the captives, by the grace of God ... the special confidence of those who have seen evil, and seen how evil is overcome. A fellow prisoner of war, a man named Tom Moe of Lancaster, Ohio, recalls looking through a pin-hole in his cell door as Lieutenant Commander John McCain was led down the hallway, by the guards, day after day.
As the story is told, "When McCain shuffled back from torturous interrogations, he would turn toward Moe's door and flash a grin and thumbs up" - as if to say, "We're going to pull through this." My fellow Americans, that is the kind of man America needs to see us through these next four years.
For a season, a gifted speaker can inspire with his words.
For a lifetime, John McCain has inspired with his deeds.
If character is the measure in this election ... and hope the theme ... and change the goal we share, then I ask you to join our cause. Join our cause and help America elect a great man as the next president of the United States."

Palin is impressive and inspiring, the liberal media has tried to carpet bomb her in every unethical way possible because they can't go after her on the issues, because they would only cause more Americans to subscribe to the Repbulican ticket.
BTW, I watched the speech on C-Span, did anybody notice who got escorted out of the venue?? Hint: Pinko...
Did they show that shot on Fox or any of the other networks?

I was late getting home, but watched Fox, didn't see it. The una numero pinko herself? I would have liked to seen that!

There's absolutely nobody else McCain could have picked that would have given him anywhere near as much of a shot in the arm. Next to Palin, Biden looks like a gray, ghost-like figure, not to say a joke. He's like an old, crappy piece of furniture that's only still in use because you haven't gotten around to hauling it to the curb for pick-up by the trash people.

Asombra, you said this,
There's absolutely nobody else McCain could have picked that would have given him anywhere near as much of a shot in the arm.
I totally agree with you as I have to hand it to John McCain’s VP pick as a stroke of genius.
I was hoping that he would make a good VP pick in order to turn the tide of this election in his favor.
And kept asking myself who could be the person capable for that task?
Or would John McCain make the right VP pick?
But never, ever in my wildest dreams I expected this move thought, as I did not paid much attention to Sarah Palin.
From now on the rest will be history in the making.
