Ay-Yay-Ike

Alright ladies and gentlemen, I have a rare day off today, and at the request of the head honcho I'll give an update on Hurricane Ike.

Right now it's looking better for South Florida as far as avoiding a direct hit, but folks down in the Keys, especially Key West, need to be a bit more concerned. Unfortunately, Cuba appears to be on target for another strike, although this one will probably affect more the north coast instead of Pinar del Rio like Gustav did. Nevertheless, the prospect of a another Category 3 or even 4 in Cuba is awful.

I was planning on putting up my shutters today, but based on the latest trends, I think South Floridians will get by with tropical storm force winds at worst.

Let's hope and pray Ike doesn't become the monster it has the chance of becoming.
