U.S. National Guard soldiers in formation outside a Dress Barn women's clothing store on Maiden Lane in New York City during the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

I don't care to re-live the events of that morning so I'll be brief.

One of the images I will never forget - aside from the actual site of the Trade Center - was the way in which so many of Lower Manhattan's streets were transformed into a sort of sick pseudo-beach scene. The soft and fluffy ash that covered the streets and turned our hair white was akin to the sand of a tropical beach, until you took a closer look. I wouldn't take back covering that event for a single moment. That said, I've learned how to turn off certain memories in my mind, and this one is most certainly at the top of the list.

Bill Biggart - wherever you are, man - you are missed.

Regards,

-AB
