You Gotta Love Cuban Women!

"Discussing" Hurricane aid on a recent Miami radio show a Cuban-exile woman was quoted talking with her Cuban relative:

Cuban relative: "La gasolina subió y peor ahí todo"

Cuban-exile woman: "Aqui estomos tratando de reunir cosas para enviar. Pero esos HIJOS DE MIL PUTAS (!! )no se si dejarán entrar."

For our non-Spanish-speaking friends: A Cuban-American woman in Miami is accumulating aid for her Hurricane-battered Cuban relatives but is wondering if those those: "SONS OF A THOUSAND SLUTS!" (Cuba's rulers ) will allow this aid to enter Cuba unhampered.

My point is: the typical American woman, my darling wife (of 30 years this Dec. 16th for instance, when we plan a rip-roaring anniv. bash in what's left of the French Quarter) might have left it at : "those Cuban Commie Son's-of-B*tches!"

But no, a Cuban woman has to multiply the insult BY ONE THOUSAND!!

I have two sisters and it's no wonder why I so often have to take in and console my badly-rattled American brothers-in-law. Consolation comes in the form of rum and reminisces of my childhood in the same house with their current wives. Oftentimes I show my brothers-in-law my multiple scars from their future wives' ferocious fingernails.

That telephone discussion can be found here.

LOL. My father (may he R.I.P.)used to use the term "hijo de sus cuarenta putas", and he was a Guatemalteco! The lady's term reminded me of that.
