No Ike

Just to prove that Cubans can laugh even under the most direst of situations, the following anecdote from Gaspar El Lugareño's family in Cuba:

Muchas personas perdieron casi todo lo que tenían y hay muchas viviendas en mal estado. Todo el pueblo está muy preocupado por la recuperación después de este desastre natural, pero en medio de toda esta situación no falta el humor que caracteriza a los cubanos que ya dicen por ahí que viene hacia la isla otro ciclón con categoría 5, porque primero vino Gustav luego "Hay" (que es la forma en la que pronuncian los cubanos Ike) y que ahora viene uno llamado "No Hay".

Translation:

Many people have lost everything they had and their homes are destroyed. Everyone is worried about the recovery after this natural disaster, but in the middle of this dire situation, that humor that characterizes the Cuban people is still prevalent as they are now saying that another category 5 hurricane is approaching, because first came Gustav then came Hay (Ike. In Cuban "Ike" is pronounced "eye" phonetically as they do not pronounce the "k" and would be spelled "hay" in Spanish, which literally means "there is" or "we have") and now we another hurricane approaching called "No Hay."

Lots of other good stuff at Gaspar's blog, including tons of photos from his home town Camagüey.

I guess we're left to seeing the Cuban people left to utter neglect, slow torturous depravation, and death and being discarded like garbage by those horrible bastards in Havana. It cannot get any lower than this.

Will not anyone cry out for defending these poor souls with an armed effort (inside our out). We have all been brainwashed into not uttering anything that might be seen as "violent" when it comes to Cuba. But take any other situation in the world, and there is no one who wants to take that right away from those using such means. We have been silenced and cowered into hoping/supporting for a "peaceful" transition. Well, as long as the bastards have the guns - there will be no transition. Period.
