Dems Surrender on Oil Drilling
Well I'll be damned, The Dems have surrendered.
They are letting the 25 year old moratorium sunset. Read it here.
When the going the rough, the democrats surrender. They did not want to make this an issue for the white house. They are a bunch of cowering, sniveling, pansies. They just did not have the stomach for a fight.
So much for all their morals and principle. They're worthless and weak. And there's folks out there that want these gutless cowards running the white house.
heaven help us. So go Drill baby.

This is ridiculous. If the Democrats had actually decided to fight this, you'd be all over them, posting your skewed facts and talking about how horrible they are. But when they decide to give you what you want, you still talk about what horrible cowards they are. Wtf is wrong with you people?

I can assure you there wouldn't have been a discussion about how brave or valiant they are had they defended the ban, much less a simple offering of praise for being consistent with their views.

Abel, my friend, you miss the point. I've been skewering the Dems for months on their bogus and intransigent position on oil drilling.
All the reasons they give and all the arguments they made for how wrong it was they've thrown it out the window. They've pussied out because they want the white house so bad, they'd go against every principle they have. Now they've flipped flop on oil drilling. They are afraid its a losing issue for them, so they surrendered.
There's nothing wrong with us dude. It's the dems man. In my book, we call folks like them pussies.
And what facts have I listed that are skew ed? If they are facts, then by logic they cannot be skewed. Then they would be opinions. I'm just linking to an article.
These folks would sell their soul to the devil and would sell out their mothers if it means they could get back into the white house.
As to your second comment, I'd have more respect for them if they decided to fight on the issue and then let the voters decide. But they took that option away.
They caved for political expediency. The decision they've made is right, but they've done it for the wrong reasons. They did not cave in because they've come to the conclusion that they were wrong, they've caved because it is politically expedient for them to do so.
That's gutless and that's what I don't want in a leader.

A) the article says the senate is likely to go along with. Color me skeptical.
B) The precipitous rise in gas prices a few months ago reshuffled the importance of issues in this election. The fact is that the Dems are the party of energy taxes and the party that actually WANTS high gas prices. But they aren't dumb and can't appear to be for high gas prices in an election year when prices are already high.

Enjoy the celebrations, my friends, for it may be over soon if Berracko Obama wins in November. I have heard it said that this may be a calculated move by the dems to remove the drilling issue off the table for the election in the hopes that it will help their candidate win. Once in office, he then can sign new restrictions on drilling, passed by a democratic house, back into law.
I know it sounds a little too gutsy of a move by the usually yellow libs, but desperate times call for desperate measures. The alternative would have been to be continually beaten over the head with this issue for the next 40 something days, in addition to the dozens of other issues that are raining down on them and still remain to rain down on them.

Abel, put the glass of kool-aid down and go lie down with a cold compress on your forehead. That's a good boy...

Alberto, you're correct, but if the GOP is smart, they'd call for legislation. If you get a bill signed into law and then the dems try to repeal it, the GOP can filibuster it.
wishful thinking.
While I'm hopeful McCain can pull it off, I'm gonna invest in vaseline stock before the election, cause sales will go through the room with an impending obama presidency for surely he'll stick it up our bums sideways if he gets his way.

Once again the Dems display their elitist condescending attitude toward those they represent, i.e. "the people", and their cowardice. They are bottom feeding sewer dwellers.

Considering the usual hysterical tone of Mad Mike's post and the abject hypocrisy of the above statement in which the author will never, ever be able to grasp how elitist and condescending SHE sounds, it's no wonder Republicans have brought this country to its knees in 8 short years.
Abel, don't waste your time. The people who breeze by and oversee this forum are so consumed with hating 1/2 of their fellow Americans, you have to wonder sometimes who the real threat to America really is.

Mike -
I consider it a win, and a permanent one at that for the nation. Way better than the House Bill.
Even if elected President, I cannot believe Sen. Obama would be DUMB ENOUGH to try and re-open the issue. It would die the same death as the late, unlamented "B.T.U. Tax." So, thanks to the Democrat "Sir Robins" who fearlessly ran away. -S-

Rick, if anyone hates 1/2 of their fellow Americans it is the lefty types that hate everyone who disagree with them and call them stupid.
Yes Docs, the Dems are like Sir Robin, "Run Away, Run Away." But don't underestimate them. I wouldn't put it past them to reinstate the ban if his Holiness St. Obama of Ulm is elected.

Rick, why don't you just fuck yourself already? I mean seriously, you're such a stupid fuck that it's laughable. Angry little big man. Just because you've never had a productive day in your life is no reason to take it out on the rest of us, you douchebag.

Dja' ever notice that what those on the left do is what they accuse others of doing?
Another way to say that is if you want to know what the left is guilty of, look to see what they accuse others of doing.
So: "The right is divisive. Racism is invading the election. (Who is bringing up race incessantly?) Republican fraud and corruption will prevent an honest election outcome. The right is conducting a smear campaign. (They actually have the nerve to say this with a straight face in view of what has been obvious on the left these past few weeks.) Bush is a child. Bush lies. Bush is evil. Bush is stupid, a puppet who has to be told what to do by others. But Bush is controlling our minds and our freedom and civil rights. (Who was it that stole FBI files and fired a non political travel agency that had been on the job through several administrations of both parties; and who was it that tried to disgrace the reputation of the head of the agency?) The right is corrupt and thieving. Right wing blogs are manipulative. This is the worst economy in... years. (When the President is Republican and we have had no losing quarter, so we haven't even had a recession in the face of so many challenges). This is the best economy in... years (When there is a Democrat president and with no cold war and no destructive hurricanes or massive terrorist acts here and spending and taxation are up anyway and we have small growth or none with higher unemployment than we have ever had in the past eight years)."
I could go on. From now on watch what the left accuses the right of. It will be what they are doing or have done.

P.S. Watch what Rick says, for example and use my theory.
