From "Paredon!-Paredon!"--to "Please send me remittances!"
"Paredon! Paredon! Paredon!"......"Si Fidel es comunista, me ponen en la lista!" "Gusano!..Gusanos!...Mercenarios!!" '
This was bad enough when so many of us were leaving. This was also screamed at the captured men and boys who put their lives on the line to liberate Cuba during the Bay of Pigs, as they were marched in hand-cuffs and Cuban crowds spat at them and screamed insults....Wonder how many of those screamers are now screaming for remittances from those same gusanos?
Just wondering.

You mentioned the gusano term used by fidel caca and his supporters. Recently I read that Hitler called those that opposed him little hairy worms. fc must have been emulating his hero. The term gusano is a term I am proud to be called by the fidelistas. Que se jodan.

Many of those that shouted Paredon, Paredon have been living in "the land of the free and the home of the brave" for a long, long time. I wonder if they ever feel any remorse for all those they led to the firing squads.

It seems self-evident that when sending financial assistance, one should be careful not to be sending dollars to collaborators and henchmen of the regime. That job of pre-screening falls to those sending funds.
What I don't get is - when you say from "Paredon!-Paredon!"--to "Please send me remittances!" . . . are you referring to my 40-year-old cousin who was denied a university education because he refused to join the party, or just the old codgers with buckets of blood on their hands?
Again, it's important to point out that the vast majority of folks receiving remittances aren't associated in any way with the dictatorship.
