The 'crap sandwich' passed
263-171. I'm very disappointed that this boondoggle. This is just another rape of the American taxpayer. Are there no conservatives left in Washington?

there is crap in there, but we managed to get an AMT fix in this bill which will save us a buttload of money on our 2008 taxes.
So it is palatable in that respect.

So a little mustard was added to the shit sandwich. How very appetizing.

Sure there are ... look at Mike Spence and James Inhofe.
The greatest disappointment for me are those that lambast the legislation and then vote for it anyway. This was a time to stand up for what was right rather than what was a quick band aid for this gushing head wound. They also refuse to name names and point out who was responsible for this.
I am tired of the GOP being "Mr. Nice Guy" when they are dealing with a bunch of rabid, psychotic snakes. We are the party reaching out across the aisle and we keep getting bit. When will our representatives learn? We are as stupid as democrats. They think terrorists will love us if we talk to them and too many Republicans think that democrats will love us if we give up things that are important to us in the name of bipartisanship.
How can we, as a party, talk about being tough on terror when we aren't willing to take on the left wing in our country?

Robert, we're just accustomed to getting nothing but shit from Washington. I guess they expect us to start liking the taste and smell of it the more they shovel it in our direction...

no doubt there is a lot of BS caveats in this bill, but you can definitely argue that a $700B (which nobody knows what that amount will eventually be) will save this country from turning into a multi trillion dollar problem. Paulson and co. are smart dudes - lots of conservative freemarket economists see this as a necessary evil.
It's easy to point fingers and say "we don't want this" w/o offering an alternative solution or explaining why it won't work. JMO.

I would like to see the list of the brave souls who had the guts to vote against this. I'll bet a lot of them are Club for Growth Republicans. And the Democrats are probably in safe seats, anyway.
I hate the additions that were reportedly added to sweeten the pot to get some of the tax relief.

Yes there is George. His name is Ron Paul and he actually believes the Constitution and always votes that way. You may have strange ideas about him as the bankster backed MSM likes it that way. Bush and all the other politicos are in fact liars as they swore an oath with absolutely no intention of following it.
You all will see soon enough he has been totally correct while everybody else has be so wrong.

Ron Paul is a fiscal conservative, and foreign policy loonbag. At the local UM debate I heard him say that he would talk to fidel, Mahmoud, and Hugo. No thanks, Tomas. I'll pass.

Frankly, I'm holding my nose and supporting it. It's all very well to stand on principle, but I was really worried about the economy. The Depression started with Wall Street hijinks, too. The whole thing runs on psychology and trust. I would, however, have liked to see some sunset provision, something that would have stated categorically that this was a limited one time involvement, that there would be no more bailouts. If it's too big too fail, it's too big to exist and should be broken up.
I know that the mess started with Fannie and Freddie, but the financial world took the ball and ran. The people defaulting in my neck of the woods were ordinary middle and upper class people who tried their hand at "flipping" or bit off more than they could chew.

Yes some want conservative constitutionalists when it suits their agenda. They cry about spend spend spend Congressmen. But the Constitution strictly specifies Congress shall declare war before we do so. So the faux constitutionalist ignores that and somehow thinks the war in Iraq is free. Let me know how you like the Iraq war next year and if you would like to follow ALL of the constitution or just the little parts you like. Many Americans will be jobless, homeless, penniless and hopeless, maybe people reading this as well - but we can feel proud we built Iraqi Schools and bridges while our crumble into the river. They want us out now so supporter are occupiers too. No we'll never win an occupation but you can go broke trying.
I say we will go broke and this so called stimulous farce will do NOTHING. Lets see if I'm wrong. But I warned you all last year this economy was on the way while the experts said the Iraq war would be a cake walk and only two weeks ago the economy was fundamentally sound. They were either mistaken or lying but either way you listen to them at your own peril. But Tomas has made plans regardless if the rulers here are fools or liars.
We will also be driven soon from Iraq and Afganistan because we will be so broke we can't pay the bill. Maybe I'm wrong. We'll see...aye?

You can cry all you want, but Ron Paul is still a loon. I heard him with my own ears and that was enough for me to dismiss him as an equal in foreign policy to the Democrats.

But I could call you a loon but that gives no reason. It's just an insult with nothing backing it up. Is he a loon for saying he'd talk to Castro? I've been talking to Castro for years. He has never answered me yet though. So I'm a loon too. Here is something loony. CNN showed destruction in Georgia recently and said look what the Russians did. Did you believe that? Because actually what happened was the Russians went into Georgia after the Georgian government murdered 2000 of their own people in an American neocon approved ethnic cleansing operation.
This is just one of the mainstream media boogie men that the neocons keep you scare over. They have done a great job making cowards of most Americans who shiver over the likes of Iran that can't even refine it's own gasoline. You have been played by the MSM even though they lie about Castro and you know it. But they have you fooled and most Americans to actually think the media is not an arm of the neocon controlled US federal government. They are a Castro like media conglomeration but much more savvy and convincing. They have you fooled about many things we cannot delve into here as it would serve no purpose at this time.
But I love time. Time has been my friend. Time will make it obvious to all in the very near future who was loony and who was right all along. So debating these questions while not abiding to any principle like the legal requirements mandated in the U.S or Cuban Constitution is a effort in futility. We end up with, "I says it is and I says it ain't." Not a productive use of our time either.
But the more time goes by the prouder I am of ALL my decisions, principles and positions. But I can't help but notice you guy are complaining more and more about the politicos you have supported - louder and louder everyday. Are you positive I am a loon and you are right when it appears you are so unhappy with your recent choices and value judgments?

Thanks George. I care a lot about you guys. I don't think you are being treated fairly on either side of the Straits of Florida. Cubans should never be treated like this because they are really nice giving people. You deserve better - much better.

We need Ronald Reagan. We need someone who can lead us to the Shining City on the Hill. We don't need candidates like Ron Paul, a hypocrite on the same level as most of these scam artists in Congress, who claimed he never voted for earmarks, all the while placing earmarks for his district in bills!
RON PAUL: “You got it completely wrong. I’ve never voted for an earmark in my life.”TIM RUSSERT: "No, but you put them in the bill.”
PAUL: “I put it in because I represent people who are asking for some of their money back. But it doesn’t cut any spending to vote against an earmark. And the Congress has the responsibility to spend the money. Why leave the money in the executive branch and let them spend the money?”
RUSSERT: “Well, that’s like, that’s like saying you voted for it before you voted against it.”
Please, Tomas, don't insult my intelligence.

Careful Tomas, are you aware that "neocon" is a code word for Jew. Please clarify your intent.
