What really scares me

For all their talk of change, Obama and his supporters do not look a whole lot different from the leftist propagandists of yesteryear. In Obama you have the constant barrage of populist slogans and empty rhetoric. Serving up an insipid concoction of twisted logic and meaningless phrases, his teleprompter aided speeches are designed to inspire those who do not want to be burdened by facts or reality.
And then you have his supporters...
Harking back to the glorious days of communist revolutions, they revel in the rubescent imagery their candidate inspires. From their Soviet propaganda inspired campaign posters, to quoting well-known communist philosophers; in Obama they have found the inspiration and the mainstream leader they have been longing for all these years. If Obama is elected, they will no longer have to hide in the shadows and for the first time in America's history, someone who thinks like them will be the leader of the most powerful nation in the world.
What I have seen in Barrack Obama is enough to scare any reasonable person who believes in freedom and democracy. But what is truly scary is what Obama's supporters see in him.

I agree; his supporters scare me more than he does.

We have seen these people before. We saw them in Russia in the late teens. We saw them in Italy in the twenties. We saw them in Germany and Japan in the thirties. We saw where ever a budding totalitarian organization needed to crush its opposition. They come to power promising change and do they ever deliver it.
Obama is not strong enough to control his supporters. With luck, the rest of us will be.
