Party Pooper Time.

The subprime mortgage mess had many parents--Republicans and many among them whom we otherwise respect. We don't dodge facts here at Babalu. So check it out;

"On June 24, 2002, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Mel Martinez hosted a bilingual "Houses Without Barriers" Town Hall Meeting at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, to explain President Bush's initiative to expand homeownership among minority families. "

I'm very disappointed in Martinez. I donated to his campaign. He has championed many positions that are far from conservative.

I agree with you Humberto. Many Republicans jumped in the bandwagon (which was being led by the Democrats) but when things started going South by 2004 it was the Republicans that warned Congress. The Democrats looked the other way. Not to mention that those that benefited from Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac were, for the most part, Democrats.

And now it seems that not only did Democrats like Barney Frank benefited from the Fanny Mae and Freedy Mac fiasco but also people like his lover at the time. Heyyyy keep the cash in the family.
