David Letterman, unfunny liberal jackass

I've been watching McCain's appearance on Letterman tonight and am thoroughly disgusted by that gap-toothed come mierda. It's a shame because at one time, during the 1980s, he was the funniest man in America and now he's just one more mouthpiece for the American left. NBC was right to dump his ass. Leno's been eating his lunch for 15 years.

When McCain was introduced he came out to Paul Shaffer and his band playing "I can't explain" by The Who.

Then Letterman grilled him on his selection of Sarah Palin. That's fine. But the way he continued to say "If we face another 9/11 can she lead?" Let me ask Mr. Pants something: What in Barack Obama's resume suggests that he's any more prepared to deal with a grave issue than Sarah Palin? Sarah Palin may have less qualifications than some would be comfortable with but she's at least as qualified as the messiah. And he's not running for veep.

Postscript: Robert Smigel is an absolute comic genius. Triumph the Insult Comic Dog visited the spin room at the debate and skewered everyone and everything. Very funny.

Who would anyone rather see face troubling enemies, Obama or Palin? One consorts with questionable people, feels able to deal with questionable enemies, and seems to find more enemies in America than among his dubious mentors and friends. The other, knows how to handle a gun, a moose and corrupt or exploitative big guys. And at least with Palin we know that she would side with America in any dispute.
I know I'd take the America firster any day.

It's sad that any politician feels tempted or compelled to appear on a show like Letterman's. It's inappropritae, to say the least. Frankly, it's demeaning, but I suppose our whole society is debased. Why would the political opoinions of some comic, or would-be comic, even remotely matter to anybody? It's ridiculous, not to say pitiful.

I don't have a problem with McCain appearing but he didn't have to prostrate himself.
