Morning and my McCain bumper sticker.
One of the good things about starting work early every day is that on most days, as I head East towards the office, I can almost see the sunrise. Little glimmers of opaque early morning light slipping through the trees and buildings and telephone poles. Today was no exception and adding to this beautiful morning routine between me and God was a pleasant light morning breeze carrying a cool, autumn-like temperature. We dont get many cool days here in Miami so when the temperature drops even just a little and the usual humidity is on hiatus, you take note and you enjoy it.
I roll my windows down in my truck and enjoy this little gift as I make my way to the office. It's Friday, you see, every working man's favorite day of the week and I'm basking in it and the colors of sunrise and the cool morning breeze and even though Im headed for another grueling day at the office, Ive got a smile on my face. Im taking deep breaths and enjoying the sights around me. Lawns look a little greener, trees look a little fuller, traffic lights change a little quicker and it seems as if Miami drivers are on lithium this morning. It's actually a pleasant drive to work today.
As I near the office, I take my usual shortcut through a small residential avenue that takes me to a major street without all the traffic. Parents are walking out of their homes with their kids and bookbags in tow. Jack-O-Lanterns and cobwebs and witches adorn most of the homes. Terry-cloth robed folks are walking outside to pick up their morning papers. It's the typical, serene, American suburbia morning playing out in front of me and convincing me that, despite all we've been dealing with news wise lately, everything is normal.
It's a great morning and Im feeling good. I'm unusually cheery and, doggone it, it's gonna be a great day!
I reach the main street that I need to turn into. There's the usual back-up of traffic from the light down the street and I set my right turn indicator on. Most days, I have to wait to make my right turn as this is Miami after all and sad to say, we dont hav emany courteous drivers here that will let you make that turn in front of them.
But today is different, you see. The sunrise shines a little brighter, the morning breeze is a little cooler, it's Friday , birds are starting to sing and one nice gentleman in a Volvo has just given the wave to turn onto the street in front of him.
I make my turn, stick my hand out the window and thank the nice man in shirt collar and tie for his kindness on this beautiful Friday morning. What a glorious day!
As I make my way towards the traffic light a block or so down, in my rearview mirror I notice the kind gentleman in the Volvo is kinda tailgating me. It's not something odd for this city, so I drive just a little more carefully. Besides, it is, truly, a beautiful morning.
As I approach the light where I make my left turn, I click on the left turn indicator, look into the rearview and as I swerve into the left turn lane, I can see the kind gentleman in the Volvo behind me lookng a little angry. Perhaps, I think to myself, he's having an argument on the phone or something.
I make it to the light and as Im waiting for the oncoming traffic to clear to make my left the nice gentleman in the Volvo pulls up next to me, stops even though he has a green light and there's a slew of cars behind him and rolls down his window.
"If I knew you were a McCain supporter," he yells. "I wouldnt have let you in, you fascist!"
O, glorious day!

Heartwarming. There's nothing like liberal compassion and tolerance to make one's day...

I constantly see more intolerance and ugliness from the left than I do from the right. There are certain friends of mine I try hard to avoid during these election cycles because of their attacks on anyone who dares to disagree with their leftists views. They really scare me with their intolerance sometimes. But we're not perfect either. I can only wonder what Val (or I, for that matter!) would've said in the reverse situation if the car we had let in had a pro-Castro bumper sticker.

Interestingly cousin, I wrote on my blog today why this sort of thing happens and how it will get far worse next year and beyond. Most people get their left/right talking points over the same big international banker financed media. People are mad as hell about the economy and many are desperate. They do not realize that they are mere pawns manipulated to do just as your traffic imbecile did.
What he was saying to you cousin was, "You have ruined my life because Bush deregulation wrecked the economy." But you might feel the economic wreckage was more to do with Democrat legislation that allowed poorer people to qualify for a home ownership loan with little or no money down. But you both would be wrong as these are sideshows to distract your thinking.
Put simply, the economy is ruined because the international bankers in illegal places like the private Federal Reserve Board created enormous quantities of fiat cash and lent those same bills out forty or fifty times over. The debt is so large now that banks can't be certain who owes whom. So they will not lend out money for fear it won't be paid back. But in a fiat currency system that is the main vehicle used to inject money (the vipers call it liquidity to keep you confused but they mean their fake money) into the economy. So Bush, McCain and Obama have dueling plans to change outright to a socialist economy so the leaders can print up money like in Venezuela and spend it any way they see fit unannounced or challenged. But the masses are polite or rude on the highway due to bumper stickers.
Again I have to point out cousin that the MSM we know lies like dogs about Cuba. Why would you believe them about anything else? Americans are being manipulated and deceived. Gas has not been costly because we didn't drill enough or refine adequate quantities. It wasn't because oil companies weren't taxed high enough either. Gas prices are not dropping like a stone because we have suddenly opened up thousands of news oil wells nor a huge windfall tax on the greedy oil tycoons of the world.
No, as I've explained above the supply of fiat dollars is spiraling downwards in the world economy. Fewer dollars means the ones remaining in the economy are worth more. So you need fewer of them to buy a gallon of gas. Naturally, prices are also dropping because the cash squeeze has left many Americans with little money or a job to require much gas. So supplies are building as well. But the root problem is the unstable money supply. Gas around here has dropped by about a third in price but one third more refineries nor oil wells have been brought on line. The tax on these oilsters has not gone up. The only explanation is the fluctuation of the money supply. It...and you are being manipulated like the stock market at midnight at the White House plunger party.

Unreal. Well, not really. It's just disgusting. These libs are so intolerant, such hypocrites. I have my McCain bumper sticker on my car, too and I'm madder than ever. Pa'lante mi amigo. BTW, the lib was driving a Volvo, huh? How typical.
I'm going to go drive around the block a few times. :-)

Tomas,
While I appreciate the lesson in political economics, the reasons you stated, IMHO, aint why this guy called me a "fascist".

What a loser. Wonder what's gonna happen to his job and his Volvo when Obie taxes the hell out of him.
I wear my hot pink Saracuda t-shirt on weekends everywhere. So far, no verbalized outrage, but I'm gearing up for it.

Can some one answer this: Here in NJ and from what I can see also down in Florida every time I see a car with an Obama sticker is a BMW, a Lexus, a Mercedes or a Volvo. Now when I see a McCain bumper sticker is an old Ford car or truck, or perhaps a Chevy or any other brand of American car. Was Obama spouse to represent the working class? I don’t think that the working class in America drives luxury cars to work every day. Something is really grown with that picture.

My two neighbors to the east of me (plus me) have McCain/Palin yard signs; my neighbor on the corner has a "CHANGE" yard sign, with no "Obama" brand name on it save the logo. So far, no vandalism on any of them.
