Friday night escape
It has been a long week my friends, and I don't know about you but I'm beat. If this were an earlier time, say 1957, I would know just where to go to shake off workweek fatigue. I'd pack a bag, head to the airport, and grab a flight on the nightclub in the sky.

Patrons of the high-flying bistro enjoy the show and drinks at 10,000 feet above the ocean on way to Cuba .

Once the party warms up, it's mambo time!

Wow! Looked like fun. Even if Cuba had never undergone the revolution (or at least had had men like Matos and Cienfuegos leading it), something like this, with all the rules and regulations of today, would still be a thing of the past. Oh for the days when the word "gaiety" didn't automatically have to do with sexuality, and you could actually smoke on an airflight!

Peshkatari: Cuba did not "need" a revolution. What Cuba needed was a return to the constitution and rule of law. IMO, that would have happened through elections, if events had played out differently. I could write a book on this. Thankfully, others, much more worthy, knowledgeable, and skilled than I have done so.

Understood, Ziva. Of course, the best thing that could've happened was if the Cuban govt. had stopped Batista's coup back in '52, and the free elections that were on the verge of taking place had occurred as planned. (I'm no expert on Cuban history or political affairs, certainly not as knowlegable as I consider myself to be on US or even Balkan ones, so forgive me if my statement above is somewhat simplistic-I'm just going by what I know, incomplete though it may be.)
In any case, my main point in my comment was that a "party plane" like that probably couldn't happen today-except for as a private charter, thanks to the overabundance of regulations that we have today (not to mention political correctness).
