McCain closing the gap in at least one poll

The polls that the media quote are taken over three days. Every day a new set of respondents is included and the oldest set drops off. Well Matt Drudge is reporting that in today's Zogby polling McCain actually beat out Obama 48-47. The average for the three days still shows Obama in the lead but this is an admittedly small sign that the race is becoming tighter down the home stretch:

ZOGBY SATURDAY: Republican John McCain has pulled back within the margin of error... The three-day average holds steady, but McCain outpolled Obama 48% to 47% in Friday, one day, polling. He is beginning to cut into Obama's lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Joe the Plumber may get his license after all...

I've posted this before but here it is for some of you that may have missed it. This Mark Levin pep talk is very inspiring:

I wonder how Zogby does its polling. I ask because I'm signed up to take their polls, but rarely am I invited to take one, and almost never about the election. I received one or two asking about pary affiliation, and who I voted for in the last election. I can't help but wonder if they weed out some Republicans.

I'd say that's more than a small sign. Obama has been consistently polling 3 to 8 points ahead in the past month. ANY trend the other way is potentially huge. The key is to sustain the trend for the next 3 days, not let it be a one-day anomaly.

I'm convinced that the votes against Obama are out there, enough to win this for McCain, especially in the south. The key is whether they'll bother to go out and vote, or whether McCain/Republicans have a plan to push them out to vote. The Left is aggressive, rabid, and unscrupulous - we have to be as well, if we're going to prevent this tragedy from happening.
