Same as it ever was--The New York Times on Cuba
Here's my favorite line from todays article "The Cuban Government gave me a courteous welcome. I was escorted to a few official meetings, but otherwise left without a minder (as far as I could see) to do what I wished."
And why would Castro's propaganda ministry NOT give a courteous welcome to one of their most faithful sudsidiaries?
Didn't President Clinton give Dee Dee Myers a courteous welcome whenever they met? Didn't JFK give one to Pierre Salinger? Didn't Hitler give one to Goebbels? Didn't Stalin give one to Walter Duranty, again from the New York Times?

Did any of you even read the article? The author heavily criticizes the Cuban government and calls Cuba a totalitarian dictatorship that has ruined the Cuban economy and imprisoned political dissenters. Just because someone isn't one-sided in treating a subject doesn't make them "immoral, unprincipled" or manipulative; it makes them journalists.

My comments stand, when referencing the NYT and their behavior over the years. Please don't lecture me about journalists, they are far from perfect and from what I've seen over the years, are horribly biased and manipulative. BTW, I believe she didn't refute the lies laid out by the Cuban official. Also, the fact she admitted that Cuba is a "totalitarian dictatorship that has ruined the Cuban economy and imprisoned political dissenters" is a given fact that any honest journalist should be stating. I'm not asking for "one-sided" reporting, I'm asking for the hard truth from a paper that is incredibly biased. Maybe you see something defensible in that monstrous system, unfortunately, I DON'T!
