Book TV Interviews Incurable Reactionary
My darling daughter found this "closet classic," that I'd never found. So how did a respectable outfit like Book TV allow such a "chusma" shirt on its show?
Well, a few months earlier I'd done Book TV gig at the Palm Springs Book Festival (no less!) Hey my book's title has Hollywood in it , right..Well? Such are the workings of the brilliant book-publishing publicity industry. The festival was packed with millionaire Hollywood pinks and reds, the very people I lampoon in the book. After my "speech " describing my book, I mighta sold two books--maybe none. Can't rightly recall.
At any rate, I struck up a friendship with the Book TV producer and camerman at that gig and these were the same ones at the Miami Book Festival. "Think Peter will let me wear this?" I asked them as I opened my jacket.
"Ummmmmm...he probably won't like it," they responded. "But do this: keep the jacket on when you sit down. As soon as we get ready to roll, I'll signal you of course. THEN rip the jacket off. We're rushed here and I don't think Brian will stop the rolling."
"Great!' I responded. And so it went. Here's the video.

Hey, talk to your publisher about making your book available on Amazon Kindle and you'll get at least one more sale ;)

Good move on your part Humberto. Did anyone ask you why you dared to deface such a paragon of virtue?

Humberto:
The interview was awesome! I'm glad your daughter found it.
I love the "deer caught in the headlights" look on the interviewer throughout the whole thing. He just didn't know what to do. After hearing so much crap about the great strides of the revolution, the facts you threw at him sent his entire world into a tailspin.
Great job!
