Tolerant? Fair?

I think not.

It always makes me laugh when "progressives" or "liberals" point out that they are fairer -- by far -- than the wascally Wepublicans. What further proof do I need to destroy that fantasy than to point out how Empress Nancy is rewriting the fairness rules in the House of Representatives (authored by Newt Gingrich, I might add) to ensure that half the country is not represented in that legislative body.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi plans to re-write House rules today to ensure that the Republican minority is unable to have any influence on legislation. Pelosi’s proposals are so draconian, and will so polarize the Capitol, that any thought President-elect Obama has of bipartisan cooperation will be rendered impossible before he even takes office.

Pelosi’s rule changes -- which may be voted on today -- will reverse the fairness rules that were written around Newt Gingrich’s “Contract with America.”

Nice, right? How do you feel about your Republican representative not being able to participate in the process of making laws? This is why the "new tone" failed. This is why we can NEVER give in to a Democrat on an issue or trust a Democrat on ANYTHING.

and typical leftist scum that they are, if their legislation tanks, they'll still blame the GOP.

Put it this way, when we take back the House, they'll be on the other end of these same rules, so be careful what they wish for.

Cigar Mike Pancier: Your observation about what happens when the Democrats lose power is exactly what I was thinking when I read this. Maybe they are thinking like Putin and don't or can't envision a day when they are ever out of power again. While I doubt they could ever pull off what Putin has done (even though they have a head start by not having to threaten or censor the media to ensure their monopoly over it) they just might be deluded enough to believe that their messiah will reign for a thousand years.
