Scrubbing Baubles

In 2006, Democrats took the congressional majority running primarily on a platform of "cleaning up corruption" in Congress.

Three years later, not only have they not Pine-Sol'd the place, but they're making sure the buckets and mops are hidden.

I guess they realized that "cleaning up corruption in Congress" is synonymous with "losing Democratic majority."

Worst Congress ever? You betcha.

The Democratic Party has been a cesspool of corruption ever since Thomas Jefferson sold out what principles he had to buy the votes of Aaron Burr's urban mob against John Adams in 1800. There are many corrupt Republicans but you do have an outside chance of finding honest ones. With Democrats the chance is very small.

I actually prefer the kleptocrats to the few honest people in the Democratic Party who tend to be fanatics like Russ Feingold or Jimmy Carter. At least the crooks can be bought off. I am hoping Obama is a crook.
