Rights group protests exclusion from Cuban report

As usual, when it comes to Cuba, the media elite pick and choose their lead stories carefully. Has anyone seen this story in the MSM?

HAVANA (AP) - Cuba's leading rights group is protesting to the United Nations that the communist government did not consult with it or any other non-governmental group for a national human rights report prepared for the world body.

Head of Cuban Commission on Human Rights and Reconciliation Elizardo Sanchez says the report lacks credibility without consultations with independent groups. Cuba's report will be presented formally to the U.N. Human Rights Council on Feb. 5.

Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque has scheduled a news conference on the report.

On Monday, Sanchez sent international news organizations a copy of the letter delivered to the U.N.

Well technically the associated press is the MSM.

Henry, I know, but I'm talking about circulation. We see the same rehashed "end the embargo articles,” over and over, supposedly to end the suffering it has inflicted on the Cuban people. Yet when Cubans themselves speak up and criticize the regime, they are ignored. Only articles with the US as the bad guy are worthy of attention. I’m surprised this one was released at all.
