Thank you, President Bush

I wanted to take a minute to thank the much maligned President Bush. Given that the U.S. is never going to invade Cuba and topple the castro brothers, the president has done what he could, what we asked him to do. Namely, he was an advocate for a free Cuba. I'd venture to guess that he's the president that has spoken the most about Cuba and its abuses. Even in his last days in office he's made talking about the human rights situation in Cuba a priority. An unpopular, lame duck president could have easily forgotten about this issue that doesn't affect many Americans. He holds a view that isn't popular with the mainstream media and some lawmakers from both parties. But he hasn't forgotten. And that's because I believe he believes in the cause. President Bush has made mistakes, no doubt. Some of them were grave. But the truth is that on Cuba he has been consistently correct.
