Scared yet about an Obama Presidency?

No?

Well perhaps here's a little something to get the ball rolling:

Venezuela.

US of A.

Predictable idiots. Let's see how his four years pan out. I have a feeling he's going to be a one-termer like Jimmah.

fortunately, our founding fathers knew that there would be idiots like this and made the amendment process extremely difficult. They need 2/3 of congress to pass it and then 3/4 of the state legislatures.

Not gonna happen.

you have got to be kidding me. what is wrong with you people? No one outside of his district, Mother Jones and apparently this blog gives a flying monkey what Pepe Serrano does. To draw a line from Chavez to Obama is absurd. I'm sure this is another Babalu joke that I don't get. I am somewhat humor deprived.

Finally - Cigar Mike is a favorite of mine (being sincere) and my personal library will attest to my adoration of our Founding Fathers but if they were THAT bright they would have established term limits from the get go. We slapped them on after getting trounced by FDR and I remember rumblings on our side to ditch them to keep Ronnie - obviously never went anywhere due to his age. Would have been interesting if he would have been younger when elected.

Cardinal,

You say:

To draw a line from Chavez to Obama is absurd.

Do you know how many times, years ago, I heard the exact same thing, but like this:

To draw a line from Castro to Chavez is absurd.

As far as it being serrano who put forth the notion, just wait till his chums get behind it.

I suppose Pelosi rewriting house rules so the Republicans basically have no say is an absurdity as well? And the re-adoption of the Fairness Doctrine is absurd as well?

Oh, we're in for some CHANGE alright.

You have a very valid and strong point Val,

We must be very careful about what these liberals are up to.

The hope that we have if that if these liberals go way too far with their agenda the American people will realize their intentions, finally wake-up and return control of the Senate and Congress to the Republicans again in two years.

It would not surprise me how far these liberals are planning to go on to impose on the American people a lefty form of dictatorship in America but, if they push too hard it'll backfire on them.

Remember my friend, America is still the greatest country and Democracy on earth regardless of the tough times we're living. A country founded on strong check and balances of government.

It won't be easy for the liberals to destroy it even thought they'll surely try.

Keep the faith.

At the end of the same article:

Update: Via Amerpundit in the comments, I see that this is an ongoing effort by Serrano. He introduced the same bill in 2003, when Bill Clinton would have been the obvious beneficiary. Steve Benen wrote an interesting history of it at the time.

Calm down, people. Calm down.

Also, in one post Obama hasn't (won't) change anything, and therefore, liberals are to be made fun of, and in the next one, Obama wants to be the next Chavez.

y'all are a bunch of drama queens relax, people relax. this is the united states of america. does that mean we are immune to idiocy? No, of course not but don't get your panties in a bunch. Don't go comparing Cuban democracy (ha! ha!) to American democracy. We never got it right down there and we somehow manage to screw it up pretty often up here too. The American system is stronger than that.

You also assume that there isn't a senator, congressman or governor that doesn't want to succeed Obama someday. I can guarantee you this amendment will go nowhere...nowhere.

And will you all stop talking about the lefties like they are some aliens from outer space and to "watch out" what they're up to? It's very clear what they're up to - bulking up regulations, hiking taxes, increasing the size of government, stifling businesses, sucking up the EUnuchs, slapping down the military and all that. They aren't hiding it - it's all out there. Stop looking for the bogeyman under the bed and confront them on the issues. Oh, by the way, if there is something under your bed it's a wiretap from the FBI - you can thank the "conservative" Bush/Cheney admin for making it easier to do so.
